I recently found this recipe on a website and read three words that I love in the english language peanut - butter - chocolate; needless to say I decided to give it a try. When I tried it I was really pleasantly surprised because I always found most peanut butter cookie recipes to be a bit mediocre. What's great is that it looks and tastes like a cookie you bought at a bakery. As a person who used to cater cookies I have to say this is definitely a good one! Who doesn't love warm cookies freshly baked from the oven? I say make it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Recipe adapted and modified from the "peanut butter chocolate chip cookie" recipe submitted by: Sarah at

Makes 18-20 medium cookies

Preheat the oven to 375 Degrees F.

Baking time: 10-12 minutes

  • 1-1/4 all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and then line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside. In a small mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and the pinch of salt.

2. In another bowl, blend and cream together the peanut butter, softened butter and the two sugars. Then add in the vanilla extract and milk. Slowly stir in the dry ingredients; then gently fold in the chocolate chips.

3. Spoon the cookie dough onto the baking sheet and place it into the oven for 10-12 minutes, making sure to rotate the pan half way. Leave the cookies for about 5 minutes to cool on the baking pan, then place them on a rack until it has cooled completely.
