MATT'S WINE NOT! JACOB'S CREEK SHIRAZ CABERNET 2006 AUSTRALIAN RED WINE

I suppose it would only be appropriate to introduce this piece with, "G'day dear reader!" And you can say "g'day" to this fine red from the land down under, where women glow and men plunder, and great wines are made, is it any wonder?

Sorry, that was just too perfect.

Anyway! Wine!

The label notes thusly, as it: "...boasts ripe plum and berry fruit flavours, soft tannins and subtle oak." (Tannins, as I have learned, or rather, looked-up, affect the bitterness and dryness of wine.)

This naturally corked vino is a deep crimson - as to be expected - ruby coloured wine and is sweet smelling, with a fruity, rich, deep nose. Deep nose - perhaps a relative of Deep Throat? (Think WATERGATE people, please - I'm Canadian, you should know it too if I do!)

This wine just fills your mouth with flavour, and isn't too heavy (I note it was medium bodied) despite being a robust 14% alcohol. It's not too dry, as the sweetness of this beauty compensates wonderfully.

After swishing it about the mouth for a moment, this wine goes down very well, and is smooth, and very tasteful.

Jacob's Creek presents a very, very tasty red, and as a fan of Cabernet wines in general, this one is definitely no exception. Definitely pick up a bottle today, and you'll be telling your fellow wine-o-philes to be saying "g'day" to this one too.
